Get to know your 2017 Prom Court
by Reagan Myers and Amber Humphres
Q: How do you feel about being on prom court for your senior year?
Smith: Totally ecstatic
King: It feels great that I was voted on by my classmates. I was very surprised.
Astter: I’m pretty surprised about it but it feels good.
Rothschild: It feels fantastic to be on prom court.
Piggott: I feel honored and think it’s a great way to end the year with.
Hilgart-Roy: I honestly don’t know how this happened.
Q: What song will we see you “getting down to” on the dancefloor?
Smith: Ice Ice Baby
Astter: Mask Off
Rothschild: Any song by Queen that they put on
Sommerfeldt: Definitely any song that comes on by Fergie
Calarco: Country Girl (Shake It For Me). Riley [Buchanan] and I own that song.
Strzelczyk: Party by Chris Brown (PLEASE PUT ON PLAYLIST)
Q: What is your go to dance move?
Smith: Pop, Lock’n Drop
King: None because I can’t dance
Sompel: It’s a mix of the sprinkler and the robot. I call it the “Sprinkbot.”
Piggott: The Salsa
Q: Will you be attending prom with a date? If so, who?
King: Bryce Smith
Sompel: I think Yana Astter wants me to go with her. She keeps dropping hints…
Sommerfeldt: Yes, I will! My date is Todd Dombrowski.
Calarco: Just me, myself, and I. Joe Moore will make for an intriguing dinner date.
Q: What do you look forward to the most at prom?
Sompel: I’m excited to try and break our record for the number of fuses blown in one dance. I’m shooting for five.
DeMeyer: Food, hanging out with my friends, and enjoying the last moments of senior year
Buchanan: Enjoying my last prom with all the people I have grown up with
Sommerfeldt: I look forward to seeing everyone dressed up and hanging out with my friends the whole night, especially for this one last time.
Q: What is your ideal promposal?
DeMeyer: Probably asking someone with a dog, or food, or flowers, or maybe a little of all three
Buchanan: You know, I haven’t quite thought about this one but something to do with a Chipotle burrito sounds good.
Rothschild: I would just nicely ask her, “Would you like to go to prom with me?”
Hilgart-Roy: Being asked
Strzelczyk: If The Weekend asked me with Flaming Hot Cheetos and said, “Would you be my hot date at prom?”
Q: If you were to bring a celebrity to prom, who would it be and why?
DeMeyer: Kevin Duffy because he’s a god
Astter: Zac Efron because of his great personality
Buchanan: Heck, if Huntley [High School] can have The Chainsmokers at their prom, I want Luke Bryan to do a concert.
Calarco: Julianne Hough… have you seen her in Footloose? Exactly.
Piggott: Anthony Rizzo because he seems like a sweetheart and fun guy. He’s adorable!
Hilgart-Roy: Rihanna because she’s a good dancer and she’d “throw bandz” at prom
Strzelczyk: Migos because I want to dip and dab
